Neurological physical therapy is a discipline focused on working with individuals who have a neurological disorder or disease. These include Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, and stroke. Common problems of patients with neurological disorders include paralysis, vision impairment, poor balance, inability to ambulate, and loss of functional independence. Therapists work with patients to improve these areas of dysfunction.
Michigan Neurology Institute’s physical therapy department is staffed by both a board certifi ed neurologist (American Society of Neurorehabilitation) as well as a registered physical therapist, RPT, who oversees each patient’s activity, providing personalized attention and guidance in order to return patients to self-sufficiency and the fullest possible range of motion as quickly as possible.
Our facilities adhere to the practice standards developed by the APTA, AOTA, Private Practice Section and other governing bodies.
Our on-site physical therapy services provide a completely handicapped accessible, comfortable, personal environment in which patients can focus on their health and well being while receiving superior outpatient rehabilitative services.
